Why can't we have our Heaven here?

Three copper plate print using soft ground, photo etching and sugar lift on Stonehenge paper. An edition of 25

I developed the original drawings for this print through a quick, spontaneous comic. I used each frame of the storyboard as a springboard for the next, not worrying about narrative but thinking what I associated with what I was laying down. The best way I can describe it is as a game of word association but with drawings. As I drew I thought about journeys to the North East coastline, dancing at queer clubs and lying in bed the morning after. What I hoped to produce was an image that had energy, that felt like dancing but also a pause and a contemplation.
